The Tab S11 Ultra is a flagship tablet from. Samsung, unveiled in September, 2026. The tablet is powered by Dimensity 9400+ chipset and sports 12 GB RAM. Although, Samsung released the Tab with Android 16, the rollout of One UI 8.5 update has started fairly quick enough.

The next big update for the tablet is Android 17 or One UI 9. Google released the Seventeenth iteration of Android on June 16th officially after a long beta testing. The Search giant actually released the first beta in mid-February for Pixel devices. The Beta 2 of Android 17 came out in late-February with so many bug fixes and refinements.

Subsequently, the third beta hit the eligible Pixel owners in late-March then the last beta came with big improvements in mid-April. The search giant also released bug fixing update under version 4.1 on June 2nd.

Samsung has begun the development of Android 17 for its devices in May, 2026 with the release of Beta 1 of One UI 9 for S26 series. Then, Beta 2 of One UI 9 hit the S26 series owners in late May. Currently, the Beta is available for both S26 and S25 series in limited regions but Samsung is planning to include more devices and regions in the Beta program.

Android 17 update Remarkable Features

The update came out with numerous new features that are absolutely very useful for the Tab S11 users. Samsung also added few stock android features in its One UI 9 Beta rollout. The key features of One UI 9 Beta are refined Samsung notes, better Dex mode, redesigned Quick Settings, notification panel and many more.

Material 3 Expressive design is one of the visual improvements in the Android 17 update. Google actually implemented material design for first time with Android 5 Lollipop, released about a decade ago. Later, the Search giant improved it with Material 2 You design which is an interactive design that changes, according to user’s taste.

In the Material 3 design, Google totally revamped the app icons, emojis, Quick settings and the entire interface. Samsung also adapted few of Material 3 changes in its One UI 9 Beta. Entire Quick settings toggles got redesigned, volume controls are separated and Media player is also improved.

In Android 17, Google brought a new feature called name less icons on home. So that users can hide the app labels on their home screens, thereby decrease the clutter on home screens. Google also restructured the notification panel to improve notification snoozing and replies.

Refined Dex mode

Samsung Dex mode is one of the most important feature in Tab S11 and most users rely on that to increase their productivity. The South Korean tech giant took advantage of the native support for desktop mode in Android 17 and improved a lot in the Beta. Users can move the windows between multiple desktops in One UI 9 and preview the background running apps by clicking on Recent apps button. Since Samsung is still cooking the update, more improvements to Dex mode in the next beta.

Samsung Notes with Tape

Samsung Notes app is looking new and fresh in the One UI 9, with new tools, brushes and so on. A new feature called Tape is introduced in the latest Beta. Using the Tape, users can cover few parts of their notes and later reveal whenever necessary. The feature is very helpful for the students who prepare for exams.

Pause Point

The Pause point is another notable feature in the Android 17 update. The traditional digital wellbeing tools in the One UI 8.5 version may not be adequate for some users in restricting the unwanted app usage. To give more control, Google pushed out the Pause point feature in the latest update.

The feature works in such a way, that the Tab S11 user can reduce the time spent on gaming, social media apps if they wanted. The feature display a 10 seconds timer before the game or app opens so that the user can rethink about the purpose of opening and it display the same time in between at specific time intervals. So the user can leave the app and spend time on more productive apps, suggested by the feature.

The Galaxy Tab S11 users can experience the app bubbles feature with every app in One UI 9, not only limited to messenger apps. In the previous android version, users were able to use the bubbles feature, simply with messenger/chat apps like Whatsapp and Messages. But in the latest android update, Google officially extended the Bubbles feature support to all apps.

In the bubbles feature, users can use an app in a floating window over another app opened in background. So the Tab S11 users can do seamless multi tasking between normal full screen app and floating window app. The floating apps are shown in the small bubble bar at the bottom of screen, through which users can switch in between different app bubbles.

One UI 9 Rollout dates for Galaxy Tab S11

Samsung may soon expand the beta program to include Tab S11. As per latest reports from users and tech enthusiasts, Samsung has begun the internal testing of One UI 9 for Tab S11 in the Europe, However, there is still official announcement from Samsung regarding beta rollout for S11.

So, interested users can register in the Samsung members app and wait for the OTA of Beta to test the One UI 9. Most likely the official rollout for Tab S11 will begin in Q3 of 2026 in some regions. In the remaining regions, Tab S11 users may have to wait till Q4 of 2026 to taste the latest major One UI update.
