Android 17 for Galaxy Tab S11 and S10 FE : Release Date and Features

Galaxy Tab S11 and S10 FE are the flagship tablet devices from Samsung released in 2025 with preinstalled Android 16 and 15 OS respectively. The Tab S10 FE received the Android 16 update in October 2025. The next big update for these tablets is One UI 9 which is based on Android 17.
Google started the development of Android 17 and rolled out two betas for Pixel devices in February 2026. The third beta and fourth beta of Android 17 reach the eligible Pixel owners in March and April, 2026 respectively. The version 4.1 Beta is another bug fix update released by Google on June 2nd, couple of days before the final release.
The final version of Android 17 came out officially on June 16th with many new features like Screen reactions, new screen recording toolbar, pause point, live updates and many more. The Pixel 7 series onwards devices started updating to Android 17 through OTA.

Samsung has begun the cooking of update for its devices in May, 2026 and rolled out two betas of One UI 9 to Galaxy S26 series owners registered through Samsung Members app. Later, the South korean tech giant also added S25 in the beta program.
The Android 17 or One UI 9 update is an essential one as it includes so many new features and bug fixes. Some of the interesting features of Android 17 include Material 3 Expressive design, interactive notifications, better desktop mode and so on.

Android 17 Exclusive Features
The update includes Material 3 Expressive UI which contains revamped notification removal, snoozing and popout of notifications with background blur. Along with that it also contains App Bubbles which work in a more efficient way than in previous Android 16. However, Samsung One UI 9 may include only some of the new visual refinements in Material 3 design.

Dex mode in One UI 9
Desktop mode is a very essential feature for Tab S10 FE and S11 users. Google added native support for desktop mode in the Android 17 update. So users can switch between tablet and desktop modes seamlessly. They can connect to any external display and apps will adjust themselves in a better way in Android 17.

After updating to One UI 9 Beta, S26 users mentioned that desktop mode is working very fluid now. Users can move various app windows seamlessly between multiple desktops. The Galaxy Tab users can take a look at app previews through recent apps button in One UI 9.
Samsung Notes app in One UI 9
Users can access the newly designed Samsung notes app in the Android 17 edition. Samsung added new brushes and tools to its home grown Notes app which help the tablet note takers and sketchers a lot. The tape feature in the notes app helps students a lot during revising and exam preparation through active recall. Using the Tape feature, users can cover desired part of the text which can be revealed later when required.
New Quick settings toggles is another feature that is worth checking. Users can customize the Quick settings toggles now, they can remove or resize the controls, media player and volume controls. Samsung even redesigned the entire toggles and system icons.

Pause point is another remarkable and useful feature for users to get rid of the addictive apps and limit the time spent on them. Using Pause point, users can set timers for the gaming apps, social media apps which can be broken only by rebooting the device. The feature shows 10 seconds timer in between mindless scrolling in the app, during the time users can take deep breaths. Or the user can choose any alternative apps suggested by Pause point like Play books to improve their productivity.
Screen Reactions

The Search giant introduced a feature named screen reactions in the seventeenth edition of android. The feature helps content creators and social media users. Users can keep a webpage, app or video playing in the background and record the facial reactions through front camera. The user making can move the face throughout the screen and also resize the face size. So there is no need to install any third-party app to create reactions content, after updating to One UI 9.
The Search giant refined the memory management and battery life in the upcoming update, so that the tablet users can experience better app switching and better battery life.
Android 17 Release Date for Galaxy Tab S11 and S10 FE :

Google already confirmed that the update will hit its home grown Pixel devices by end Q2 of 2026 and started the rollout on 17th, June, 2026. Since Samsung also already begun the development of the One UI 9 for its flagship devices, Tab S10 FE and S11 may soon be included in the beta program. According to tech enthusiasts and leaks, Samsung already started the internal testing of Android 17 for Tab S11 in select regions. However, public Beta program for S11 and S10 FE tablets is yet to open.
Once, the beta program is open, Tab S11 users can register through Samsung members app to get an early access to the Beta of Android 17. Most likely, the South Korean tech giant may start the Beta program for Tab S11 in late-June or early-July 2026.
So Samsung may begin the soak testing of One UI 9 in July 2026 for the Tab S10 devices. The official rollout most likely begin in July or August 2026 for S11 Tab, but that rollout might be limited to specific regions. In September or October 2026, Samsung may start the Global rollout of the One UI 9 update for Tab S11 and S10 FE.
